Serving in Iraq is serving you country without waiver. It is the pinnacle of men and women in the Armed Forces and even in our civilian agencies like the CIA. Whether you agree with the politics or not, serving in one of the most hostile countries in the world is an incredible feat. Iraq and Afghanistan has been a staple in America since September 11th and sometimes Americans can forget that men and women are serving in Iraq and other places in the world because they are overshadowed by the politicians playing the emotional plea with us. They want deadlines, they want budget control, and they want re-election while those that serve want solace, protection, proper treatment, and someone to remember them. Since Iraq has been created to put those soldiers back in the light and recognize them for the contribution. It’s a place to share stories, meet friends, and talk about the experiences good and bad. Some people may not want to open up but this is a place to be amongst friends. Things like Post Stress or the experiences on the front lines have always been the most difficult things to talk about even looking back at the veterans from WWII and Vietnam. This is your place to feel comfortable and hopefully meet people just like you. We haven’t forgotten about the other side of the war in Afghanistan. We have our sister site for that which will be live soon enough. We separated our content for a reason because each side has so much difference yet the same in many ways. We focus on the experience of Iraq through the hell of conveys, the losses of friends, the urban warfare, and the times we smiled after a day of no incidents. The site is in dedication of everyone that has served in Iraq or supported the war effort. Each member of the Armed Forces has contributed in some way and for that we salute you.
